Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the sprintf() function in glibc. A remote attacker can pas specially crafted data to the application that us using the affected library, trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Mitigation

Install update from vendor's website.
