Description
This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-38171)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow within the JBIG2 decoder in the JBIG2Stream::readTextRegionSeg() function in JBIG2Stream.cc. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted PDF file or JBIG2 image to the application, trigger an integer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
Note, the vulnerability is related to #VU56067 (CVE-2021-30860).
2) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-24106)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the DCT (JPEG) decoder in Stream.cc. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted PDF file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
3) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-24107)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow in JPXStream.cc. A remote attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted PDF file, trigger an integer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
