Security Bulletin

This security bulletin contains information about 2 vulnerabilities.

1) Integer overflow

EUVDB-ID: #VU22913

Risk: High

CVSSv3.1: 6.7 [CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H/E:P/RL:O/RC:C]

CVE-ID: CVE-2019-5086

CWE-ID: CWE-190 - Integer overflow

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow in the "flattenIncrementally" function in the "xcf2png" and "xcf2pnm" binaries. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted XCF file, trigger integer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
