SB2023042859 - Path traversal in MLflow

Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 vulnerabilities.

1) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-2356)

CWE-ID: CWE-22 - Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal')

CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request and read arbitrary files on the system.

2) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-2780)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the affected system.

The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request and overwrite arbitrary files on the system.
