Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-29160)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted FNE file, trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

2) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-29167)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted FNE file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.

3) XML External Entity injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-29498)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied XML input. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted project file and view contents of arbitrary files on the system or initiate requests to external systems.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to view contents of arbitrary file on the server or perform network scanning of internal and external infrastructure.
