Updated 21.09.2023

Added fixed version for vulnerabilities #1-2

1) Heap-based buffer overflow

EUVDB-ID: #VU80195

Risk: Low

CVSSv3.1: 6.5 [CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H/E:U/RL:O/RC:C]

CVE-ID: CVE-2023-33552

CWE-ID: CWE-122 - Heap-based Buffer Overflow

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the erofs_read_one_data() function in data.c. A remote attacker can trick the victim to use a specially crafted filesystem image to trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

Mitigation

Install update from vendor's website.
