SB2023091264 - Multiple vulnerabilities in Microsoft Azure DevOps Server

Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Deserialization of Untrusted Data (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-38155)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to insecure input validation when processing serialized data within the MachinePropertyBag class. A local user can pass specially crafted data to the server and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.

2) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-33136)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in Azure DevOps Server. A remote user can pass specially crafted input to the application and execute arbitrary code on the system.
