Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Infinite loop (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-36023)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to infinite loop within the FoFiType1C::cvtGlyph() function. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted PDF file to the server, consume all available system resources and cause denial of service conditions.


2) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-36024)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error within the FoFiType1C::convertToType1() function. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted PDF file to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.


3) Reachable Assertion (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-38349)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a reachable assertion within the PDFDoc::replacePageDict() function in PDFDoc.cc. A remote attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted PDF file and crash the application.
