SB2023112433 - Multiple vulnerabilities in Intel Battery Life Diagnostic Tool

Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Untrusted search path (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-34430)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to usage of an untrusted search path. A local user can execute arbitrary code with escalated privileges.

2) Improper Authorization (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-32662)

The vulnerability allows a local user to bypass authorization checks.

The vulnerability exists due to improper authorization. A local administrator can gain elevated privileges on the system.

3) Improper access control (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-38786)

The vulnerability allows a local user to gain unauthorized access to otherwise restricted functionality.

The vulnerability exists due to improper access restrictions. A local user can bypass implemented security restrictions and gain elevated privileges.
