Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 vulnerabilities.

1) Missing Authentication for Critical Function (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-46271)

CWE-ID: CWE-306 - Missing Authentication for Critical Function

CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:A/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Green

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass authentication process.

The vulnerability exists due to missing authentication for critical function within the ah_webui service. A remote attacker on the local network can bypass authentication and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

2) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-46272)

CWE-ID: CWE-121 - Stack-based buffer overflow

CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:A/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Green

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the ah_auth service. A remote unauthenticated attacker on the local network can trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
