Description

This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Infinite loop (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-51890)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to infinite loop in the \calendara. A remote attacker can consume all available system resources and cause denial of service conditions.

2) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-51886)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the main() function when using \convertpath. A remote attacker can trigger memory corruption and cause a denial of service condition on the target system.

3) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-51888)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the nomath() function. A remote attacker can trigger memory corruption and cause a denial of service condition on the target system.

4) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-51885)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the length of the LaTeX string component. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

5) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-51889)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the validate() function. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

6) Command Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-51887)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary shell commands on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation. A remote unauthenticated attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and execute arbitrary OS commands on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
