Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow within the AV1 decoder when decoding videos with large frame size. A remote attacker can trick the victim to play a specially crafted video file, trigger an integer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

Mitigation

Install update from vendor's website to address vulnerability in CoreMedia and WebRTC components of macOS.
