Description
This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-32036)
The vulnerability allows a remote user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly control consumption of internal resources. A remote user can repeatedly invoke the features command where at a high volume may lead to resource depletion or generate high lock contention to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
2) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-32040)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service attack.
The vulnerability exists due to extremely long aggregation pipeline in conjunction with a specific stage/operator. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it using the affected software, trigger an out-of-bounds write and perform a denial of service attack.
3) Improper Certificate Validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-1409)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to modify data on the system.
The vulnerability exists if the MongoDB Server running on Windows or macOS is configured to use TLS with a specific set of configuration options that are already known to work securely in other platforms (e.g. Linux). A remote attacker can exploit vulnerability to modify data on the system.
