Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-20307)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the IKEv1 fragmentation code. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and cause a denial of service condition on the target system.
2) Buffer Underwrite ('Buffer Underflow') (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-20308)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a crafted, fragmented IKEv1 packets are not properly reassembled. A remote attacker can send specially crafted UDP packets and cause a denial of service condition on the target system.
