The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in IChangeDeviceProperty/RRChangeOutputProperty. A local user can trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.
2) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-6377)
CWE-ID: CWE-787 - Out-of-bounds write
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the XKB button handler when switching logical input devices. A local user can trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.
3) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-6478)
CWE-ID: CWE-190 - Integer overflow
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear
The vulnerability allows a local user to gain access to sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow when handling RRChangeProviderProperty or RRChangeOutputProperty requests. A local user can send a specially crafted request to the server, trigger an integer overflow and gain access to sensitive information.
4) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-6816)
CWE-ID: CWE-122 - Heap-based Buffer Overflow
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the DeviceFocusEvent and ProcXIQueryPointer functions. A local user can trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
5) Race condition (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-0229)
CWE-ID: CWE-362 - Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition')
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to a race condition when reattaching to a different master device. A local user can exploit the race and gain unauthorized access to sensitive information and escalate privileges on the system.
6) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-0408)
CWE-ID: CWE-20 - Improper input validation
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear
The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to incorrectly labeled GLX PBuffers. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
7) Resource management error (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-0409)
CWE-ID: CWE-399 - Resource Management Errors
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear
The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of the curser code when used with SELinux. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
8) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-21885)
CWE-ID: CWE-122 - Heap-based Buffer Overflow
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the XISendDeviceHierarchyEvent() function. A local user can trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
9) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-21886)
CWE-ID: CWE-122 - Heap-based Buffer Overflow
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear
