1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-4458)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition when parsing extended attributes within the smb2_open() function in ksmbd. A remote non-authenticated attacker can send specially crafted requests to the daemon, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.
