1) Resource exhaustion

EUVDB-ID: #VU88184

Risk: Medium

CVSSv4.0: 7.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:P/U:Green]

CVE-ID: CVE-2023-45288

CWE-ID: CWE-400 - Resource exhaustion

Exploit availability: Yes

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient limitations placed on the amount of CONTINUATION frames that can be sent within a single HTTP/2 stream. A remote attacker can send specially crafted HTTP/2 requests to the server and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

Mitigation

Install updates from vendor's website.

Vulnerable software versions

podman (Red Hat package): before 4.4.1-13.4.rhaos4.14.el8

openshift (Red Hat package): before 4.14.0-202404301807.p0.gfd36fb9.assembly.stream.el8

cri-o (Red Hat package): before 1.27.6-2.rhaos4.14.gitb3bd0bf.el8

No. We are not aware of malware exploiting this vulnerability. However, proof of concept for this vulnerability is available.

2) Improper Privilege Management

EUVDB-ID: #VU87616

Risk: High

CVSSv4.0: 5.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Amber]

CVE-ID: CVE-2024-1753

CWE-ID: CWE-269 - Improper Privilege Management

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to escalate privileges.

The vulnerability exists due to the affected application allows containers to mount arbitrary locations on the host filesystem into build containers. A remote attacker can escalate privileges.

Mitigation

Install updates from vendor's website.

CVE-ID: CVE-2024-3154

CWE-ID: CWE-77 - Command injection

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote user to execute arbitrary commands on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to the systemd property injection. A remote administrator can pass specially crafted data to the application and execute arbitrary commands on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

Mitigation

Install updates from vendor's website.
