Description

This security bulletin contains information about 7 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Command Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-23961)

The vulnerability allows a local attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the UPDM_wemCmdUpdFSpeDecomp function. An attacker with physical access can pass specially crafted data to the application and execute arbitrary commands on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

2) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-23923)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error within the prh_l2_sar_data_ind function. A remote attacker on the local network can execute arbitrary code on the target system.

3) Improper Verification of Cryptographic Signature (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-23960)

The vulnerability allows a local attacker to compromise the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper verification of cryptographic signature within the firmware metadata signature validation mechanism. An attacker with physical access can bypass signature validation mechanism on the target device.

4) Command Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-23924)

The vulnerability allows a local attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the UPDM_wemCmdCreatSHA256Hash function. An attacker with physical access can pass specially crafted data to the application and execute arbitrary commands on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

5) Improper Authentication (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-23962)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass authentication process.

The vulnerability exists due to an error in when processing authentication requests within the DLT interface. A remote attacker can bypass authentication process and disclose sensitive information.

6) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-23935)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the DecodeUTF7 function. A remote attacker on the local network can trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

7) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-23963)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the PBAP_DecodeVCARD function. A remote attacker on the local network can trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
