Description

This security bulletin contains information about 8 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) OS Command Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-23971)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary shell commands on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the handling of OCPP messages. A remote attacker on the local network can pass specially crafted data to the application and execute arbitrary OS commands on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

2) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-7391)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to excessive data output by the application within the Wi-Fi setup logic. A remote attacker on the local network can gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.

3) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-7392)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper connection handling of the Bluetooth Low Energy interface. A remote attacker on the local network can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

4) Improper access control (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-23920)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to otherwise restricted functionality.

The vulnerability exists due to improper access restrictions within the onboardee module. A remote attacker on the local network can bypass implemented security restrictions and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

5) OS Command Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-23921)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary shell commands on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the wlanapp module. A remote unauthenticated attacker on the local network can pass specially crafted data to the application and execute arbitrary OS commands on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

6) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-23968)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the SrvrToSmSetAutoChnlListMsg function. A remote unauthenticated attacker on the local network can trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

7) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-23969)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the wlanchnllst function. A remote attacker on the local network can trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

8) Improper Certificate Validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-23970)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of certificates within the CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST setting. A remote attacker on the local network can compromise transport security on the target charging stations.
