Description

This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-34577)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data in easysetup.cgi and menu.cgi. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.

2) Missing Authentication for Critical Function (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-39300)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to missing authentication when Telnet function of the product is enabled. A remote attacker can login to the target device without authentication and alter the product's settings.

3) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-42412)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data in easysetup.cgi and menu.cgi. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.

4) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-43689)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in common.cgi. A remote unauthenticated attacker on the local network can trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
