Description

This security bulletin contains information about 7 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-6343)

The vulnerability allows a remote user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the CGI program. A remote administrator can trigger memory corruption and cause a denial of service condition on the target system.


2) OS Command Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-7203)

The vulnerability allows a remote user to execute arbitrary shell commands on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation. A remote administrator can pass specially crafted data to the application and execute arbitrary OS commands on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.


3) OS Command Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-42057)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary shell commands on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in the IPSec VPN feature. A remote unauthenticated attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and execute arbitrary OS commands on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.


4) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-42058)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

7) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-42061)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data in the CGI program "dynamic_script.cgi". A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
