This security bulletin contains information about 2 vulnerabilities.

1) Improper access control (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-38220)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to otherwise restricted functionality.

The vulnerability exists due to improper access restrictions in Azure Stack Hub. A remote user can bypass implemented security restrictions and gain elevated privileges on the system.

2) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-38216)

CWE-ID: CWE-20 - Improper input validation

CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:A/VC:H/VI:L/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Green

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in Azure Stack Hub. A remote user can pass specially crafted input to the application and gain unauthorized access to system resources.
