SB2024091135 - Multiple vulnerabilities in Ivanti Workspace Control

Description

This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Improper Authorization (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-8012)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper authorization within the message broker service. A local user can execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.

2) Cleartext transmission of sensitive information (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-44105)

The vulnerability allows a local user to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to software uses insecure communication channel to transmit credentials in the management console. A local user can obtain credentials of the service user.

3) Improper Authorization (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-44104)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper authorization within the management console. A local user can execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.

4) Untrusted search path (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-44107)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to usage of an untrusted search path. A local user can place a malicious .dll file into a specific location on the system and execute arbitrary code with escalated privileges.

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to usage of an untrusted search path. A local user can place a malicious .dll file into a specific location on the system and execute arbitrary code with escalated privileges.

6) Permissions, Privileges, and Access Controls (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-44106)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to improperly imposed security restrictions in the management console. A local user can execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.
