Description

This security bulletin contains information about 5 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-47962)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the parsing of CMT, ALM or DPAX files in the DOPSoft component. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file, trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

2) Use of Uninitialized Variable (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-47966)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to uninitialized variable within the parsing of DPAX files. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

3) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-47964)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted DPAX file, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

4) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-47965)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted DPAX file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system, leading to arbitrary code execution.

5) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-47963)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input in the DOPSoft component. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted DPAX file, trick the victim into opening it using the affected software, trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
