1) Spoofing attack (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-49041)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform spoofing attack.

The vulnerability exists due to incorrect processing of user-supplied data within the way Microsoft Edge prompts the user after a file is downloaded. A remote attacker can hide the real filename extension misleading the user into believing that the file type is harmless.

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a type confusion error within the V8 component in Google Chrome. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted web page, trick the victim into visiting it, trigger a type confusion error and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
