Security Bulletin

This security bulletin contains information about 6 vulnerabilities.

1) Path traversal

EUVDB-ID: #VU102432

Risk: Critical

CVSSv3.1: 9.4 [CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H/E:H/RL:O/RC:C]

CVE-ID: CVE-2024-41713

CWE-ID: CWE-22 - Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal')

Exploit availability: Yes

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to input validation error in the NuPoint Unified Messaging (NPM) component when processing directory traversal sequences. A remote non-authenticated attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request and read, modify or delete data, resulting in system compromise.

Mitigation

Install update from vendor's website.

Vulnerable software versions

MiCollab: before 9.8 SP1 FP2

Q & A

Can this vulnerability be exploited remotely?

Yes. This vulnerability can be exploited by a remote non-authenticated attacker via the Internet.

Is there known malware, which exploits this vulnerability?

Yes. This vulnerability is being exploited in the wild.

2) Path traversal

EUVDB-ID: #VU102433

Risk: High

CVSSv3.1: 2.6 [CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N/E:H/RL:O/RC:C]

CVE-ID: CVE-2024-55550

CWE-ID: CWE-22 - Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal')

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote user to perform directory traversal attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences. A remote privileged user can send a specially crafted HTTP request and read arbitrary files on the system.

Mitigation

Install update from vendor's website.

Vulnerable software versions

MiCollab: before 9.8 SP1 FP2

Q & A

Can this vulnerability be exploited remotely?

Yes. This vulnerability can be exploited by a remote authenticated privileged user via the Internet.

Is there known malware, which exploits this vulnerability?

Yes. This vulnerability is being exploited in the wild.

3) CRLF injection

EUVDB-ID: #VU102437

Risk: Low

CVSSv3.1: 3.8 [CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N/E:U/RL:O/RC:C]

CVE-ID: CVE-2024-47224

CWE-ID: CWE-93 - Improper Neutralization of CRLF Sequences ('CRLF Injection')

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to inject arbitrary data in server response.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of attacker-supplied data in the Audio, Web and Video Conferencing (AWV) component. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application containing CR-LF characters and modify application behavior.

Mitigation

Install updates from vendor's website.

No. We are not aware of malware exploiting this vulnerability.

4) SQL injection

EUVDB-ID: #VU102436

Risk: High

CVSSv3.1: 7.1 [CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H/E:U/RL:O/RC:C]

CVE-ID: CVE-2024-47189

CWE-ID: CWE-89 - Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an SQL Command ('SQL Injection')

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary SQL queries in database.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data in the API Interface of the Audio, Web and Video Conferencing (AWV) component. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted request to the affected application and execute arbitrary SQL commands within the application database.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to read, delete, modify data in database and gain complete control over the affected application.

Mitigation

Install update from vendor's website.

Vulnerable software versions
