Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 vulnerabilities.

1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-30536)

CWE-ID: CWE-20 - Improper input validation

CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:H/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to alter application's behavior.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of HTTP headers with newline characters. A remote attacker with ability to control the header names that are passed to Slilm-Psr7 can craft invalid messages, possibly causing application errors or invalid HTTP requests being sent out with an PSR-18 HTTP client.

2) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-2961)

CWE-ID: CWE-119 - Memory corruption

CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:A/U:Amber

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the iconv() function when converting string to the ISO-2022-CN-EXT character set. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application, trigger a 4 byte buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
