Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Improper Check for Unusual or Exceptional Conditions (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-38355)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper error handling. A remote attacker can send specially crafted Socket.IO packet to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

2) XML External Entity injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-22354)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied XML input. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted XML code to the affected application and view contents of arbitrary files on the system or initiate requests to external systems.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to view contents of arbitrary file on the server or perform network scanning of internal and external infrastructure.

3) Uncontrolled Memory Allocation (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-37168)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due there are two separate code paths in which memory can be allocated per message in excess of the `grpc.max_receive_message_length` channel option. A remote attacker can trigger resource exhaustion and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
