Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Memory leak (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-20193)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform DoS attack on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due memory leak within the read_header() function in list.c. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted archive to the application and force it to leak memory, which eventually results in a denial of service condition.


2) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-43618)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow in mpz/inp_raw.c. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger integer overflow and cause a denial of service condition on the target system.
