Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-23121)

The vulnerability allows a remote user to compromise the Backup server.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. A remote unprivileged domain user can send specially crafted request to the application and execute arbitrary code on the Backup server.

Note, this vulnerability only impacts domain-joined backup servers.


2) Permissions, Privileges, and Access Controls (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-24286)

The vulnerability allows a remote user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper privilege management. A remote user with the Backup Operator role can modify backup jobs, which can lead to remote code execution.
