Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 vulnerabilities.

1) Code Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-1302)

CWE-ID: CWE-94 - Improper Control of Generation of Code ('Code Injection')

CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:P/U:Red

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation. A remote attacker can execute aribitrary code on the system by exploiting the unsafe default usage of eval='safe' mode.

2) Improper Preservation of Permissions (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-24791)

CWE-ID: CWE-281 - Improper preservation of permissions

CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:L/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear

The vulnerability allows a local user to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to excessive data output by the application. A local user with write access to the local cache directory can bypass file permissions checks of the temporary credential cache.

3) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-21534)

CWE-ID: CWE-20 - Improper input validation

CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:P/U:Amber

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the affected application.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. A remote attacker can exploit the unsafe default usage of vm in Node and execute arbitrary code on the system.
