SB2025091008 - Multiple vulnerabilities in Microsoft MapUrlToZone

Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Protection Mechanism Failure (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-54917)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass implemented security restrictions.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient implementation of security measures in MapUrlToZone. A remote attacker can bypass implemented security restrictions and gain access to sensitive information on the system.

2) Improper Resolution of Path Equivalence (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-54107)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper resolution of path equivalence in MapUrlToZone. A remote attacker can bypass the MapURLToZone method and gain access to sensitive information on the system.
