The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error within the mpi3mr_issue_and_process_mur(), mpi3mr_revalidate_factsdata(), mpi3mr_alloc_reply_sense_bufs(), mpi3mr_alloc_chain_bufs(), mpi3mr_memset_buffers(), mpi3mr_free_mem() and mpi3mr_soft_reset_handler() functions in drivers/scsi/mpi3mr/mpi3mr_fw.c. A local user can escalate privileges on the system.
