Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-58719)

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error in Windows Connected Devices Platform Service. A local user can cause a denial of service condition on the target system.


2) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-59191)

The vulnerability allows a local user to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in Windows Connected Devices Platform Service. A local user can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system with elevated privileges.


3) Race condition (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-58727)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to a race condition in Windows Connected Devices Platform Service. A local user can exploit the race and gain unauthorized access to sensitive information and escalate privileges on the system.
