SB2025102442 - Multiple vulnerabilities in HashiCorp Vault Community and Enterprise

Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Authentication bypass using an alternate path or channel (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-11621)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass authentication process.

The vulnerability exists due to the authentication bypass using an alternate path or channel within AWS Auth method. A remote user can gain acces to sensitive data and potentially gain elevated privileges.

2) Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-12044)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to rate limit regression when processing JSON payloads. A remote attacker can cause a denial of service condition on the target system.
