Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-45539)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input when processing the "#" character in the URI. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted URI to the application and view otherwise restricted file or potentially manipulate data.
2) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-32464)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the regsub() function in src/sample.c. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability requires a very specific configuration of the proxy server.
