Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-25713)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition within the raptor_xml_writer_start_element_common() function in raptor_xml_writer.c. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted PDF file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.

2) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-57822)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to heap-based buffer over-read when parsing triples with the nquads parser in raptor_ntriples_parse_term_internal(). A remote attacker can perform a denial of service attack.

3) Integer underflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-57823)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to integer underflow when handling URIs in PDF files. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger an integer underflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
