The vulnerability allows a remote user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to software does not perform software integrity check when downloading updates. A remote user with VMDK or datastore access can modify system files and gain persistent arbitrary code execution.


2) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-40605)
