Security Bulletin

This security bulletin contains information about 3 vulnerabilities.

1) Resource management error

EUVDB-ID: #VU107885

Risk: Medium

CVSSv4.0: 6.6 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Green]

CVE-ID: CVE-2025-21605

CWE-ID: CWE-399 - Resource Management Errors

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper management of internal resources within the application when handling output buffers. A remote attacker can cause the output buffer to grow from "NOAUTH" responses until the system will run out of memory.

Mitigation

Update the affected package valkey to the latest version.

Vulnerable software versions

Server Applications Module: 15-SP7

SUSE Linux Enterprise Real Time 15: SP7

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications 15: SP7

Is there known malware, which exploits this vulnerability?

No. We are not aware of malware exploiting this vulnerability.

2) Stack-based buffer overflow

EUVDB-ID: #VU109874

Risk: Medium

CVSSv4.0: 4 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:H/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Green]

CVE-ID: CVE-2025-27151

CWE-ID: CWE-121 - Stack-based buffer overflow

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when parsing file names. A remote attacker can trick the victim into passing an overly long file path to the redis-check-aof cli, trigger a stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

Mitigation

Update the affected package valkey to the latest version.

3) Integer underflow

EUVDB-ID: #VU118804

Risk: Low

CVSSv4.0: 0.6 [CVSS:4.0/AV:A/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear]

CVE-ID: CVE-2025-49112

CWE-ID: CWE-191 - Integer underflow

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service attack.

The vulnerability exists due to an integer underflow within the setDeferredReply() function in networking.c. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted request to the affected application, trigger an integer underflow and perform a denial of service attack.

Mitigation

Update the affected package valkey to the latest version.
