Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-11565)

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform directory traversal attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences. A local user can tamper with the POST /REST/UpdateJRE request payload and gain elevated privileges on the system.


2) Improper Restriction of Excessive Authentication Attempts (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-11566)

The vulnerability allows a local attacker to gain unauthorized access to otherwise restricted functionality.

The vulnerability exists due to the affected module does not limit the number of password attempts within the /REST/shutdownnow endpoint. A local attacker can perform a brute-force attack and gain access to the user account.


3) Incorrect default permissions (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-11567)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to incorrect default permissions for files and folders that are set by the application. A local user can gain elevated privileges on the target system.
