Description
This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-1544)
The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition within the pvrdma_ring_next_elem_read() function in the QEMU implementation of VMWare's paravirtual RDMA device. A local user can trigger an out-of-bounds read error and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
2) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-6505)
The vulnerability allows a remote user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition within the virtio-net device in QEMU when enabling the RSS feature on the virtio-net network card. A remote privileged user can trigger an out-of-bounds read error and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
3) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-12464)
The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the e1000_receive_iov() function. A local user or malicious guest can send a short frame in loopback mode, trigger a stack-based buffer overflow and perform a denial of service attack.
