The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service attack.

The vulnerability exists due to incorrect error handling in the TLS cryptography functionality of the Snort 3 Detection Engine. A remote attacker can send specially crafted TLS packets to the affected system and perform a denial of service attack.
