Description

This security bulletin contains information about 5 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Reachable assertion (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-8354)

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a reachable assertion within the usb_ep_get() function in hw/net/core.c when trying to get the USB endpoint from a USB device. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

2) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-11234)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error in websocket handshake code in /io/channel-websock.c. A remote attacker with network access to the VNC WebSocket port can perform a denial of service during the WebSocket handshake prior to the VNC client authentication.

3) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-12464)

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the e1000_receive_iov() function. A local user or malicious guest can send a short frame in loopback mode, trigger a stack-based buffer overflow and perform a denial of service attack.

4) Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-14876)

The vulnerability allows a malicious guest to perform a denial of service attack.

The vulnerability exists due to uncontrolled memory allocation in the virtio-crypto device in hw/virtio/virtio-crypto.c. A malicious guest can consume all available memory resources and terminate the QEMU process.

5) Off-by-one (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-0665)

The vulnerability allows a malicious guest to perform a denial of service attack.

The vulnerability exists due to an off-by-one error within the KVM Xen guest support in hw/i386/kvm/xen_evtchn.c. A malicious guest can trigger an off-by-one error and perform a denial of service attack.
