Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-53577)

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to memory corruption within the put_cpu_map_entry(), cpu_map_kthread_stop(), cpu_map_bpf_prog_run() and __cpu_map_entry_alloc() functions in kernel/bpf/cpumap.c. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.


2) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-23216)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error within the iscsit_dec_conn_usage_count() function in drivers/target/iscsi/iscsi_target_util.c. A local user can escalate privileges on the system.
