The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause email misdelivery and disclose sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in the email address parser when processing quoted local-parts containing @ characters. A remote attacker can supply a specially crafted recipient address to cause email misdelivery and disclose sensitive information.
Downstream applications that rely on domain-based recipient validation or logging may be affected.
