The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the Windows host.
The vulnerability exists due to command injection in pkg/machine/hyperv/stubber.go when resizing a HyperV virtual disk using a user-controlled VM image path in a PowerShell double-quoted string. A remote attacker can supply a crafted machine name or image directory containing a PowerShell subexpression to execute arbitrary commands on the Windows host.
The issue affects only the Windows-specific HyperV machine backend.
