Description
This security bulletin contains information about 4 vulnerabilities.
1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-68431)
CWE-ID: CWE-125 - Out-of-bounds read
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:L/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Green
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information or crash the application.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition within the HeifPixelImage::overlay() function. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system or perform a denial of service attack.
2) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-22184)
CWE-ID: CWE-787 - Out-of-bounds write
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Amber
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input within the TGZfname() function. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted file, trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
3) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-25210)
CWE-ID: CWE-190 - Integer overflow
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Amber
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow within the doContent() function. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted XML data to the application, trigger integer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
4) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-25646)
CWE-ID: CWE-122 - Heap-based Buffer Overflow
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Amber
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the png_set_quantize() API function. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted PNG image to the application, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
