The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to double free in vfio_pci_core_feature_dma_buf() when handling the dma-buf feature error path during file descriptor exhaustion. A local user can trigger file descriptor exhaustion to cause a denial of service.
The issue can result in an unbalanced reference count on the vfio device.
