1) Improper Check or Handling of Exceptional Conditions (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-31775)

CWE-ID: CWE-703 - Improper Check or Handling of Exceptional Conditions

CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper resource enumeration in DAIO initialization in the ALSA ctxfi driver when initializing DAIO resources on hw20k2 systems. A local user can trigger initialization of the affected driver to cause a denial of service.

The issue is specific to hw20k2 systems because the SPDIF1 type has no corresponding definition there.
