The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper resource shutdown or release in the EROFS image handling logic when processing a crafted metabox-enabled image with metadata compression enabled. A local user can supply a specially crafted EROFS image to cause a denial of service.

The issue leads to folio reference leaks and does not cause system crashes or other severe issues.
